The Nikon Coolpix S4/S10 cameras, we designed this microscope to work with, have unfortunately been withdrawn from the market by Nikon, without a suitable replacement. Although individual cameras may still be sourced on the internet, they are not available in sufficient quantities to support the continued marketing of the Portable Microscope.

As we match our optics precisely to the camera used, this has resulted in us having to withdraw the Portable Microscope system until a suitable replacement camera has been sourced, tested and optics prepared for it.

We will have a replacement system available in July 2008. We apologise for any inconvienience caused. If you can source your own Nikon Coolpix S10 camera locally, we can still provide a Portable Microscope for that camera system while stocks last.

One of the biggest problems faced by those using microscopes is the lack of useful depth of field. The more you enlarge an object, the worse it gets. Additionally, microscopes are usually quite large and therefore cumbersome to take out into the field.

This unique new lens adaptor system addresses both of these problems by making use of the unique Olbrich Lens System which will convert your Nikon CoolPix S4/S10 digital camera into a lightweight, easy to use 25-100x portable microscope with up to 0.16" (4mm) depth of field while retaining excellent resolution, high contrast and true colour rendition!

The Nikon CoolPix S4/S10 is a well-proven 6 megapixel digital camera with autofocus and swivel lens to ensure you can always take your pictures at the ideal angle. This is especially useful when using the camera as an enhanced highly portable microscope. The special fixed ring tripod design ensures the portable microscope is used at the ideal working distance for maximum possible depth of field. Even expensive laboratory microscopes do not offer you as much depth of field as this lens system at the same magnifications.
